The Aussie playlist is on, so turn it up and help give local music a bigger share of your stream.

Australians love to support the local music industry, whether it’s the recent Tame Impala national 12-show arena tour, the rush on tickets for Powderfinger’s 2027 reunion tour, or recent statistics from Music Australia showing 71% of those surveyed felt a sense of pride when they heard Australian music, with two in three wanting to hear more.

Yet streaming figures for local music have declined significantly to a new low of just 8.5%, according to music rights organisation APRA AMCOS. That’s a 37% decline over the past four years, with streaming algorithms tending to direct listeners to international artists over Australian.

We can do something about this. From today we’re encouraging everyone to Ausify Your Algo, a national Music Australia campaign to get Australians deliberately listening to more Australian music, and influencing your streaming algorithms while you’re at it.

It’s simple. We’ve put together Alberts’ own Ausify playlist here.

What better way to support local during AusMusic month!
