Following a five-year period with chartered accountants Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co (now KPMG), Chris Cuffe entered the funds management industry in 1985. He joined Colonial First State in 1988 and served as CEO from 1990 to 2003, leading its growth from start-up to Australia’s largest investment manager. He later became CEO of Challenger Financial Services Group and, in 2006, joined Social Ventures Australia as Executive Director. Since 2009, Chris has combined investment and philanthropic leadership. He serves as Chairman of Hearts and Minds Investments Limited, a listed investment company supporting medical research, and as a non-executive director of Staude Capital Global Value Fund and Keyview Partners. He also manages the $420m Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation portfolio and founded Third Link Growth Fund, which donates all management fees to charity. He holds a BCom (UNSW), is a Fellow of CA ANZ, and is an Officer of the Order of Australia.
